As of 01 January 2012, the unit RIIWHS601E Establish and Maintain the Risk Management System Unit (known as G3 Mining Course) is required to be held by a senior member in all mining organisations as defined in the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and as required by the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Council in Australia.
The Site Senior Executive Course (SSE) is tailored to suit mainly coal mine workers who would like to expand their career opportunities. The course is applicable to underground and surface coal mining operations and is relevant to other professionals within the mining industry looking to expand their knowledge of industry WHS & Risk Management Systems. These professions may include department managers, engineers, safety professional, superintendents and geologists. Have your mining safety and mining risk management skills and experience recognised towards this G3 Mining Unit.
How Does The G3 Course Work? – A very smooth and simple process…
- A phone chat with your Trainer to ensure your suitability to this course – that you have previous knowledge and experience in working with Risk Management Systems and WHS Systems in mining environments. - Enrolment process completed
- A tour of your online student area and course materials (takes 20 mins with your Global Training Support staff member)
- Phone appointment with your Trainer to determine relevant projects for your assessments. . If you have already reviewed and developed mining risk management systems or safety systems in the past, and you can still access the documents, you may be able to use these towards your assessments.
- Complete your Assessments – creating a Mining Risk Management System
- Assessments are submitted, marked, extra evidence provided or another phone session booked with your Trainer if needed
- Statement of Attainment awarded – emailed to you and also posted in the mail
