What is considered a New Employee?

An employee must be registered for the Wage subsidy program within the first 90 days of commencing their employment

Check Eligibility
Your business or Organisation may be eligible if:

  • You register a Trainee (Existing Worker or New Worker) between 5 October 2020 and
    31 March 2022, and
  • You are a business, organisation or Local Council…
  • Eligible Employees…
  • They need to be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand citizen who has been here over 6 months.
    They can have any existing qualifications (anything from Certificate I to a PhD or MBA) or no qualifications at all.
    They can be Experienced and at any level of the organisation.
  • Your Trainee is undertaking a Certificate II or higher qualification
    and has a training contract that is formally approved by the state training authority.

Additional eligibility requirements apply to existing workers – GTI courses are eligible.

Any business, organisation, Local council that registers an Australian Apprentice or Trainee up to 31 March 2022, may be eligible for a subsidy of 50 percent of wages paid to a Trainee or Apprentice, to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter.

  • Sign up your employees as a New Worker Trainee or as an Existing Worker Trainee in one of our eligible courses
  • The employer receives a Federal 50% Wage subsidy – Up to $28,000 per person– 4 x $7000 per quarter
  • The employer pays course fees
  • Enrol before 31 March 2022.
  • Unlimited employees per company
  • Available to all States and Territories
  • Available for Private Employers, Organisations and Local Councils

Employers of any size, or industry, Australia-wide who commence a Traineeship or Australian Apprentice between
5 October 2020 and 31 March 2022 may be eligible under this program.

Existing Employees…

Choose 1 of the following 3 courses for each of your employees:

  • ‘Post 2020 Business Skills Program’. Great for any business and all levels of employees.
    Course covers latest skills and strategies including: digital technology, sustainability for your business (environmental, economic and social), mental health, critical thinking & problem solving, relationship building…
    After completion of the 12 month program, participants will gain their BSB42315 Certificate IV in Business (Sustainability) + Certificate IV in Business.
    Then only an optional extra 4 units to finish their BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or 6 units to finish their Certificate IV in Local Government.
    OR
  • Upskill your people in Workplace Health and Safety and the latest communication strategies.
    After completion of the 12 month program, participants will gain their BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety qualification.
    OR
  • For Civil Construction Companies and Councils:
    Upskill all your Leading Hands, Supervisors, Project Managers, Foreman and above.
    After completion of the 12 month program, participants will gain their RII40720 Certificate IV in Civil Construction (Supervision) qualification.

  • BSB42315 Certificate IV in Environmental Management and Sustainability

  • Online access 24/7 to everything they need – course materials, assessments, resource libraries…
  • Monthly Phone appointments with their Trainer – to understand the assessment requirements, determine what evidence they already have and what is needed to complete for each unit, discuss the topic…
  • Regular Tutorials via Zoom available to get all their questions answered as needed
  • Regular phone sessions with their Completion Coach/Tutor – to help them through the units, sort out any issues, keep them on-track…
  • Complete all units over the 12 month wage subsidy period
  • Qualification awarded + online graduation celebration

Group Training Program (minimum 20 participants):

  • In addition to the above, your organisation can have its own monthly remote session with the trainer. This allows your people to be working together and working ON your business.
